Baker. Entrepreneur. Dream Builder.
Hello, I’m Roslyn.
Some things are in your hands before you even know what they mean.
For Roslyn Campbell, it started in a neighborhood church around the corner — a little girl in a 4H cooking class, learning that something beautiful could come from something as simple as flour, butter, and care. It continued in her great grandmother’s kitchen every Christmas, where peppermints and pecans were always within reach and the smell of something sweet meant the people you loved were close.
She learned from watching. From standing close enough to see how her grandmother folded batter, how her great grandmother kept her kitchen, how the neighbor ladies down the street made lemon pound cakes and applesauce cakes and scripture cakes that tasted like memory. She was an only child for eight years — and she spent those years absorbing everything.
She dreamed of Le Cordon Bleu. She had her eye on the Culinary Institute at Cornell, inspired by an uncle who had walked those halls. But she was the oldest. The oldest child, the oldest grandchild — and she understood early what that meant. She stepped back so others could step forward. She put the dream on a shelf and kept baking on her own.
What she didn’t know then was that the shelf was just storage. Not a grave.
Decades later, what started as cakes for family and friends became something impossible to ignore. Every gathering, every holiday, every celebration — someone was asking for “Roslyn’s cake.” And somewhere between the asking and the answering, she realized she wasn’t just a home baker anymore. She was a business waiting to happen.
Today, Campbell’s Cakes & More is a licensed Austin, Texas cottage food bakery operating under DSHS License #11135. Everything is baked from scratch in her home kitchen — no commercial shortcuts, no compromises on quality. Just real ingredients, real care, and real love baked into every single order. And her aunt? She’s still teaching her. Some lessons don’t have an end date.
But this was never just about cake.
Roslyn is building something that goes beyond the kitchen — workshops, education, and digital resources to help other women launch their own cottage food businesses and build something that lasts. Because the door that opened for her should be open for everyone.
Campbell’s Cakes & More operates under the umbrella of Dallas Samone Enterprises — named for the daughter Roslyn never got to keep, but has never stopped carrying. Building this business is how she honors her. Every order, every product, every woman she helps find her way — is for Dallas Samone.
And somewhere, she thinks her mother, her grandmother, and her great grandmother would all approve.
